Senior Day 2009

dsc07966 Senior Day 2009

This year the Lady Vikings bid farewell to two very special girls.  Lindsay Clark and Amy Moore are our only two seniors who will be embarking on the journey of college life this fall.  Both girls and their families are very special to Valencia Softball and we will miss them in a BIG way.  Amy Moore will be attending University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and Lindsay Clark will be attending Azusa Pacific in Azusa, CA. Both girls will be representing their schools on the field with well deserved athletic scholarships.

Raising the New Scoreboard

It was a special day when the new scoreboard went up on Valhalla Field.  From the pictures it looks like Mason had the most fun, but we will all enjoy the scoreboard for years to come.

2007 CIF Champions

On high school softball’s grandest stage, Valencia came through with a historical performance, defeating neighborhood rival Hart of Newhall 1-0 on Saturday night to win the Southern Section Div. I Championship in front of about 1,500 at Barber Park.

They were at times vulnerable, but almost always proved invincible, and now Valencia has completed one of the most remarkable seasons of softball in state history.  Behind the pitching of Jordan Taylor and clutch hit by Alyssa Ishibashi, top-seeded Valencia won the Southern Section Division I Championship Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Newhall Hart, its rival from the Foothill League, at Barber Park in Irvine.

Facing Hart (26-7) for the third time, Valencia stranded runners in each of the six innings it battled left-handed sophomore Destiny Rodino (20-5).
But in the fifth, it finally pushed across a run.  Lelani Bernardino singled up the middle, took second on a bunt by Megan Foglesong and scored with two outs on Ishibashi’s blooper down the right-field line.
